Bass with teeth
Growler is a wavetable synth built for brostep, riddim and tearout. Clone a bass sound into a patch you can edit, or load your own audio as a wavetable.
Drop a sound. Get a patch.
Clone listens to a short sound and builds a normal Growler patch that gets as close as it can. Every knob stays yours to change.
Short, isolated sounds work best. Treat the result as a close starting point, not a perfect copy. A sound cut from a full mix will not clone well.
It measures the sound
Pitch, level and brightness over time, and any movement between left and right.
It picks the wavetables
It compares the sound with the factory tables and shortlists the closest ones.
It searches for about 25 seconds
Oscillators, filters, effects and LFOs are tried on the real engine and compared with your sound.
Runs on your computer. No machine learning, no upload, no account.
Your bass as a wavetable
Load your own bass recording and Growler turns it into a wavetable in about a second. It stays your sound, now playable on any note.
64 frames from your audio
Growler follows the pitch and cuts the sound into single cycles, so its timbre and movement stay in the table.
Plays back in the original order
The scan and pitch curve are set up for you. Move WT Pos or draw a new LFO to play the sound differently.
Goes through the whole synth
Warp it, filter it, run it through the 13 effects. It stays saved in your DAW project and your presets.
WAV · AIFF · FLAC · OGG · MP3
109 wavetables
Every table is computed from scratch for this synth. Drag across the display to scan through one, the way WT Pos does.
321 presets
Brostep
Big wobbles, talking growls, FM, screeches and hits.
Riddim
Sparse, rhythmically gated patterns with a heavy sub.
Tearout
Hard distortion, metal, fast chaos and triple compression.
Also growls, basses, leads, plucks, subs and 808s, one-shots, and 48 drum sounds: kicks, snares, claps, hi-hats, cymbals and percussion. Save your own, or press Generate for a new variation.

Questions
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Growler and Clone run entirely on your computer.
What kind of file can I clone?
WAV, AIFF, FLAC, OGG or MP3, up to 20 MB when dropped on the window. Growler analyses up to 8 seconds, but a clean sound of a second or two works best.
Can I automate the knobs in my DAW?
Yes. Knobs are plugin parameters, and your patch and any cloned wavetable are saved in the DAW project.
Which plugin format should I install?
VST3 works in most DAWs on macOS and Windows. Use AU for Logic and GarageBand on a Mac.
